The Conditioning Process

The picture here illustrates the state in which radiators are brought to us and the end result of our refurbishment process.
All radiators supplied by The Cast Iron Reclamation Co are put through this rigorous reconditioning process and are fully guaranteed for the first Year.
- Stage 1.
- The radiators have all there original valves and bushes removed.
- Stage 2.
- The radiators are shotblasted back to the bare iron.
- Stage 3.
- The radiators are flushed through on a pump circulator system to remove any residual silt.
- Stage 4.
- All bushes and caps are replaced to the customers own specifications.
- Stage 5.
- The radiators are pressure tested to 9 bar for a period of 24 Hrs.
- Stage 6.
- The radiators are then painted in one of five stock colours (Gun metal, Antique bronze, Aga cream, Aga white and black lead). However, we can paint radiators in any colour our customer requires. Alternatively customers can have a hand polished finish as shown in the photograph at an additional cost of £17 per section.
